Previous attempts to finish cards printed onto PVC – telephone cards, loyalty cards etc – by laminating with polyester in a linear process have usually failed because of the inability to achieve a good enough bond between the polyester and the PVC.Â
The alternatives have been to use less cost effective platen presses or print onto costlier, but more easily adhered to, plastics.
D&K has now engineered a solution to this problem and successfully launched the line during 2004 in the USA and in Europe at DRUPA in 2004.
